I know I’m really slacking on this relationship of ours. I’m going to stop saying that I’m going to update my entries soon because every time I say I will do something, I end up forgetting to keep my word. Besides, with Facebook and Twitter (gloriatingy), who talks or writes with more than 2 sentences these days??
This is my 2nd draft. The 1st disappeared, I don’t know where or how. Technology is a foreign language for me and this is my 1st time
writing on my iPad. To keep things short, I’d like to share with you about my super exciting trip that’s coming up. No no, not a
doobie…
For the past four months, I’ve been training really hard for this and now that it’s just around the corner, I’m totally shitting my pants just thinking about it! Exactly next week today, I’m going to be in Tanzania climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The tallest in Africa and 5th in the world, at approximately 19000ft. Family and friends all think I’ve gone lunatic, but hey – it’s all for charity. Please log onto JustAddWaterProject to donate. No no, the funds raised does not go to my trip, 100% of it goes directly to the organization – Generosity Water. They basically go around the world, building wells for communities that don’t have access to clean water. These families walk at least 5km EVERYDAY for clean and fresh water. As we live in a society that’s full of wastage, your kindness and generosity goes a long way for these unfortunate communities. Every dollar counts, so it doesn’t matter if you have only have $10 or $1 to spare. I thank you in advance for your generosity.
I don’t have much photos to post this time as I’m already on the road and I didn’t bring my Mac, but here’s some from my trip to Yosemite and Half Dome in Sept this year as part of my training for Mt. Kili. Okay, nevermind. I don’t think my iPad wants to do that right now. I will upload them in 2 months, when I get back home. Yup, will be living out of my suitcases the next 2 months.
Until next time, let’s be grateful for all the things we have in our lives, big or small. Hope you all had a blessed Christmas and happy new year folks! May 2011 be a wonderful year for you. May the force be with me… And I sure hell would need it on my climb!
Yeah i am really grateful for what i have i this life, mostly the love of a good woman and the love of my four children. i was hoping at some point a posting about how the climb went and perhaps a few pics?
i know what you mean about blogging and how everything seems to be reduced to 140 characters now. But you’ll note my blog can be sometimes personal while at other times professional, sharing concerns or teaching ideas and then it can also be political.
you are what you think!
